Challenges from practice

What you can bring to me.

  1. 01

A team at the end of a busy period that needs a break from discussing anything at all

  2. 02

People who can't relax and can't make it happen through willpower either

  3. 03

Looking for a way to close a training day or conference that people will remember

  4. 04

An accessible vitality moment that everyone can join, including people who aren't keen on exercise

  5. 05

Finding meditation too difficult and still wanting that calm

  6. 06

Looking for a team outing that isn't about performance or competition

Sound familiar? Then a sound session is the simplest intervention I offer. All you have to do is show up.

What it is

No skills required.

Of everything I offer, this is the only thing that takes no effort at all. You come in, lie down or sit, and listen.

Sound works without you having to think about it. The low tones of the gong and the overtones of the singing bowls take you into a state similar to the moment just before sleep. After twenty minutes, most people notice that their breathing has changed without them doing anything.

In a group, something else happens: everyone falls into the same rhythm. That sounds a bit woolly, yet you can see it in the breathing of the whole room. For teams, this is a way to come to rest together without anyone having to say a word.

Sound & Resonance can stand on its own, or be part of a team day, retreat, leadership programme or event. For example, to close a training day, or at the end of a busy period.

What it does

Lying down, seated or on a chair

What the session does.

  1. 01

    Sound you can feel

A gong and singing bowls reach further than your ears: you feel them throughout your body. No effort required.

  2. 02

A breath that slows down by itself

Low, long tones carry your breath along. No practice needed, it happens by itself.

  3. 03

    Attention without effort

There is nothing to pay attention to and nothing to get right. That is exactly why your mind settles.

  4. 04

    A shared experience

Everyone lies in the same sound, including people who barely speak to each other at work. It connects without anything needing to be said.

The experience

A journey of one and a half to two hours.

Hands strike a large bronze gong with a felt mallet, with people lying on mats in the background
Lying down, seated or on a chair. Everyone chooses their own spot, and the sound does the rest.

A short introduction, a meditation, a gong concert, followed by silence and integration.

The emphasis is on the experience and the space that opens up. There is no fixed step-by-step plan: the sound sets the pace, and everyone experiences it in their own way. Some people fall asleep, and that's fine.

You take part lying on a mat, sitting on a meditation cushion or simply on a chair. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat and a blanket if you have them.

What it brings

What you can do with it.

The effect comes without effort. This is what you can expect.

  1. A nervous system that comes to rest

From alert to recovery. The sound does the work, you stay lying down or seated.

  2. Less tension in body and mind

Jaw, shoulders and belly let go. Thoughts slow down and feel less urgent.

  3. Clearer afterwards

People come out sharper, without the drowsiness. That is why it also works in the middle of a working day.

  4. A group in the same rhythm

People who have lain in sound together talk to each other differently afterwards. Gentler, and shorter.
